Global NK Zoom&Connect has met with leading South Korean researchers who study North Korea and listened to their voices to understand the current research on North Korea. For this issue, we met with Jung In Sung, the president of the Korea Hana Foundation (KHF), a public institute that has helped North Korean defectors settle down in our society. He introduced the current policies for helping the defectors settle and achieve self-support, and shared his prospects for the unification. The KHF has been “a hub for the inter-Korean social integration in preparation for unification.” Throughout the interview, the Editor was impressed by the commitment that the KHF has demonstrated to provide practical support for North Korean defectors and their social integration, which is a necessary step toward unification.
