Global NK has met with diverse South Korean researchers who study North Korea and listened to their voices to understand the current research on North Korea. For this issue, we meet Prof. Lee Kwan-kyu of Korea University, who recently published “Changes and Tasks in North and South Korean Language Norms” and “School Grammar in North Korea,” to discuss the differences present in the language and grammar of the two Koreas and cooperative measures to restore the homogeneity.

 


 

Kwan-kyu Lee is professor at Department of Korean Language Education at Korea University. His research areas include Korean grammar, Korean language education, language education of North Korea, language policy. He published Changes and Challenges of Language Norms of South and North Korea (2021) and School Grammar of North Korea (2021).
